Would you like a member of Los Abogados to come to your School?
Los Abogados is committed to encouraging education in the Latino community and to inspiring the next generation of abogados. Los Abogados has a number of attorneys from around the state who are able to volunteer and speak in your classroom. Los Abogados is happy to provide this service, free of charge, to Arizona's kindergarten through high school classrooms. Los Abogados is also happy to speak to undergraduate groups (e.g. pre-law organizations, student clubs, etc.). We ask that the request come from the teacher, counselor, school principal, district-level administrator, or (for undergraduate organizations) the faculty sponsor.
Our pipeline committee will make every effort to match a speaker request to an appropriate speaker. At least three weeks notice is preferred. To inquire about a potential speaker on a specific topic, email Pipelinecommitee@losabogados.org with the following information:
- Your Contact Information (e-mail, phone number, and title)
- Date of Presentation
- Location of School
- Grade Level of Students
- Time Allocated for the Presentation (usually 30 minutes to an hour)
- Requested Topic, for example:
- How to Become a Lawyer
- What Do Lawyers Do
- Civil Rights Issues
- Branches of Government
- Separation of Powers
- Judicial Review
- Any Other Relevant Details you would like for us to know in order to find you an appropriate speaker.
The Los Abogados Pipeline Committee will make every effort to accommodate requests. Please make sure that a District or school level administrator has approved the request and that (for K-12 classrooms) a certificated employee is present during the presentation.
We look forward to speaking with your class!
