We are pleased to announce that the Los Abogados Board has unanimously voted to rename our Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Daniel R. Ortega Jr. Danny’s unwavering commitment to his clients, community, and the mission of Los Abogados exemplifies the very essence of this organization.

 

Throughout his distinguished career, Danny has demonstrated exceptional dedication as a trial attorney and has ardently championed justice for his clients. His advocacy extends beyond the courtroom, encompassing significant contributions to civil rights causes and steadfast leadership within our organization. As one of the founding members of Los Abogados, Danny has played an integral role in shaping our mission and fostering a legacy of empowerment and advocacy.

 

In addition to his thirty-year tenure on the Association’s Board and ongoing service on the Los Abogados Foundation Board, Danny has been instrumental in advancing our goal of supporting Hispanic law students through scholarships and initiatives. His mentorship has been invaluable to countless members, and his influence within the legal community is profound, evidenced by his participation in educational forums and his effective representation of our interests to various stakeholders.

 

Therefore, it is with great honor that we unveil the Daniel R. Ortega Jr. Legacy Award, formerly known as the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes individuals who, like Danny, have made significant contributions to Los Abogados, the legal profession, and our broader community.
